A French know-how

Compagnie & Co is known for the quality of its teas, and for its unique steaming process.

Selecting the best teas

Compagnie & Co has been famous for its high quality teas for almost two centuries.
The reason for our excellent reputation is that we only select the very best teas from around the world in order to guarantee the utmost quality and a taste beyond compare. From picking and selecting the best leaves, to the flavouring and packaging of our teas, we strive to provide quality products and achieve technical excellence.

Our original blends

Our company is a past master when it comes to creating original blends that go on to become firm favourites: Christmas Tea, Chine Extra, Sencha Calida and Secret de Shéhérazade are just some of the blends born in the imagination of our tea tasters and brought to life by their expertise.

These unique blends are made from 100% natural ingredients and contain no artificial colourings.

On the strength of our expertise, we are constantly looking for new flavours and new combinations, ever guided by our obsession with irreproachable quality and unrivalled taste.

A unique, traditional know-how: steam-flavouring

Compagnie & Co’s signature know-how consists in how its teas are flavoured. The leaves are placed in a drum equipped with a helical screw and steam is then used to moisten the tea leaves before the flavours are mixed in. As they dry, the leaves take on the subtle flavours of fruits, spices and flowers from the four corners of the globe and gain their characteristic, almost caramelised shine. This also fixes the flavours onto the leaves themselves, so that they reveal their true savour and fragrance in the cup. Compagnie & Co is the only French tea company to use this artisanal process, thereby ensuring that our teas have an aromatic nose and taste out of this world.

Our tea blends are strictly the same, whether they are sold loose or in teabags. The elegantly shaped berlingo® sachet is made in France from a silk-like muslin fabric, which gives the whole leaf more room to brew and release all its flavour.
Our teas are packaged in our French factory situated in Dissay*.

Our organic range

For several years now, we have committed to developing organic tea production.
Today, our Ecocert certified range of organic teas counts some fifteen references, with a selection of black and green teas, flavoured and unflavoured teas and rooibos etc.
In 2017, we added organic herbal teas known for their calming and detoxifying properties
to the range.

Our commitment to sustainable development

The production methods employed in our French factory illustrate our strong commitment to sustainable development. Indeed for several years now, 100 % of the energy used in the production process is certified environmentally friendly by French power company Engie. Moreover, we do not pollute the natural environment because all the elements that enter into our production process are recycled.

Finally, we have established a partnership with a local stable to ensure that the 4 hectares of lawns around our production facility are cut in an environmentally responsible manner.

Our social commitment

In collaboration with our suppliers, we undertake to comply with social and environmental standards and do business responsibly, from the moment the tea is picked to when it is packaged.
We follow the principles of ethical trading, in keeping with the principles of the United Nations’ Global Compact and comply with existing laws and regulations in those countries where our tea is produced.
