The benefits of Chamomile
In the great family of infusions, we obviously find tea but also rooibos or herbal teas! Tisane is known as "herbal tea" in English, and for good reason: it is simply an infusion of plants other than tea: vervain, lime, chamomile...
Speaking of Chamomile, did you know that its infusion was full of many benefits?
First of all, chamomile is a perfect ally for your intestinal comfort! It is known for its anti-inflammatory action on the intestine, stomach and esophagus.
After a meal, it helps prevent bloating and possible burns.
Its anti-inflammatory action is also recognized to soothe other pains like headaches, menstrual pains but also mouth ulcers and light dental pains!
Its anti-bacterial action also helps to relieve sore throats and irritations. Chamomille has soothing virtues, perfect to fight, against stress and anxiety. That's why many herbal teas that help you fall asleep contain chamomille, its helps release tension for a peaceful night!
Another superpower of chamomile: its action on skin disorders!
Chamomile effectively soothes itching and skin discomforts such as eczema, sunburn and irritations thanks to its calming and healing properties.
Finally, chamomile is known to relieve many rheumatisms, nervous tensions and back pain for example.
In short, you will have understood, chamomille is a plant with many virtues and can become your ideal healthy ally!
How to prepare your Camomille Matricaire ?
Chamomile is a plant of the Asteraceae family but there are different varieties!
The chamaemelum nobile, also called Roman chamomile, is the best known. It is presented in the form of small flowers with white petals and a yellow heart. Its stems are crawling and then stand upright as it grows. It does not exceed 50 cm in height in general.
Matricaria recutita, also known as Camomille Matricaire, is another variety formed by a single upright stem, it also reaches 50 cm in height. The yellow heart of its flowers is bigger and we chose it for its delicate taste, sweeter and fruitier than the other varieties.
How to prepare your chamomile tea to benefit from all these benefits? It is simple:
We advise you to let it infuse for 10 minutes in a simmering water between 85 and 90°C.
But we can never repeat it enough: the secret of a good infusion is above all to enjoy it! You can of course let it brew for a shorter time for a lighter result or on the contrary extend this time if you are looking for more intense flavors.
This herbal tea contains no tea and therefore no tannins, so there is no risk that it will develop a certain bitterness after a long infusion.
Its delicate flavour reminds us of sweet childhood memories, for a soothing and relaxing moment of tasting.
