What is verbena?
You have probably already tasted it, but do you really know verbena?
There are two main types of verbena. The officinal verbena and the fragrant verbena. Both are from the same family: verbenaceae.
The officinal verbena or Verbena officinalis, was considered for a long time as the bad grass before discovering its virtues. It measures between 50 and 80cm and consists of leaves and small flowers of a very clear blue in the shape of ears. It blooms between June and September.
The scented verbena or Aloysia citrodora is a small shrub of about 1 meter. It has long and pointed green leaves. They give off a delicate lemon scent, so you can see why this vervain is called fragrant!
It is also sometimes called lemon verbena. It also has small white or purple flowers.

You can of course let it brew for a shorter time for a lighter result or on the contrary extend this time if you prefer more intense flavors. This infusion does not contain tea and therefore no tannins, no risk that it develops a certain bitterness after a prolonged infusion.
We advise you to consume this tea in the evening after the meal to benefit from its soothing and digestive virtues.
