How to prepare Assam tea ?

Among our range of original black teas you will find teas from China, Ceylon, Indian teas...

By the way, speaking of Indian teas, you surely know Assam tea?

The secret of a good tea is its preparation, its time and temperature of infusion are essential to reveal the full potential of a tea! So let's start with this step:

To prepare this delicious original black tea so that it releases all the splendor of its aromas, we advise you to let it infuse for 3 minutes in simmering water between 85°C and 90°C.

But we can't repeat it enough: you have to enjoy it first! You can shorten this time if you prefer a lighter taste, or lengthen it for a more intense result.

This tea offers a strong, slightly amber colored liquor, it is invigorating and rich in flavor. Some people accompany it with a cloud of milk to give it a little sweetness

The history of Assam tea ?

It is important to prepare your tea well, but knowing its history is just as important!

As its name indicates, Assam tea comes from the Assam region in India. Like all other teas in the world, it comes from the Camellia Sinensis plant and more precisely from the assamica variety.

The state of Assam is located in the North East of India. This region of plains is crossed by the famous Brahmaputra river, located between Bangladesh, Burma, Bhutan and China. This region is renowned for producing teas of exceptional quality.

The letters GFOP stand for Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe, which is a second flush tea, where whole leaves are rolled with the final bud (Pekoe) during drying, and which has many leaves with golden tips.

The Assam tea leaves are harvested only by hand and placed in large bamboo baskets or cloth bags. Once filled, these baskets are transported to a production facility on site where the leaves are oxidized to become black tea.

The virtues of Assam tea

Like all black teas, Assam tea has many benefits.

First of all, the tea allows you to easily reach the recommended daily water consumption, normally about 2L of water per day.

A hydrated body and a healthy body. This helps prevent digestion problems, skin problems, headaches...

Black tea is also well known for being rich in antioxidants. Ideal to improve blood circulation and fight against diseases related to aging. Antioxidants help maintain better cardiovascular health by optimizing and reducing the risk of stroke.

Black tea is also rich in tannins, perfect to promote digestive comfort, facilitate digestion and reduce bloating.

In some cases, black tea is used to stabilize blood sugar or regulate fats in the body. It is a real source of well-being and to some extent helps to avoid chronic diseases such as diabetes or cholesterol.

Finally, black tea is very rich in catechins. This active ingredient is a real ally for weight loss thanks to its slimming virtues.
